My Accident

        In October 3rd I went to Ohsaki-Shimojima from the university by road bike as a part of practice of the club activity. The roundtrip distance is about 94km. I crossed four bridges before arriving at the destination via Kawajiri in Kure. The Akinada Bridge was the largest of these bridges, and the scenery from there was also the most beautiful and magnificent. I was able to learn a little about the real thrill of road bike that can't experience in practice around the university.

        My accident occurred on the way back after supporting the heat of national competition on the island. In the place called Nakagiri in Kure, I tried to apply the brakes while riding on a gentle slope. Then the steering wheel shook and I rolled over to the right. Immediately after I rolled over, I was desperate to get out of the car road and didn't feel any pain. But the moment I went out on the sidewalk, the right side of my body was severely scratched and my limbs were numb. I couldn't stand up completely, and a senior who happened to be nearby called an ambulance. At this time, I was mixed with various emotions such as apology for causing trouble to the team, gratitude for dealing with this accident, and regret for not being able to do club activity for a while. 

       It wasn't until I was diagnosed at the hospital that I found out that my right arm was broken. It was about 4 weeks to heal. I felt depressed that I would be living with only one hand from now on. It's getting better now, but I felt various inconvenience such as not being able to ride a bike, writing letters and eating with chopsticks. I realized that not only injury but negative effects on many areas by this accident.

    Are you Ok?? Probably it would be a big trouble, but it could be worse... Your body is preferential..
    I hope you can leave hospital as early as possible.

Library

     I study in the individual reading rooms of the university's central library on weekdays. I can be completely alone and the heat is on, so I can concentrate on my study very well.Also, I can sleep easily, which is not good behavior.  One disadvantage is that eating and drinking are not allowed because it is in the library.

     Yesterday, as part of training, I cycled to Okamura Port in Ehime. The total distance was about 114km and the total consumed calory was about 2000kcal.      It was snowing in Saijo as I left around 8:30 a.m. I didn't enough protection from the cold, so my body didn't warm up at all after about 10km of riding. Fortunately, my teammate lent me a jacket at the first rest stop.      After a while, one of my teammates who was riding in another grope fell off. Although it was not serious, he was forced to turn back to the university. The trouble made me a little anxious, but the rest of the ride went off without a hitch.

Driving School

     I have been attending Higashihiroshima Driving School since September. At that time, I decided that I would definitely get my licence in about two months. But due to a broken bone, I was unable to attend the school for almost a month. So when I took my road lesson for the first time in a long time last week, my driving technic had deteriorated considerably.      The reason why I chose this school is that my father's acquaintance works there. My father is also an instructor of Chuo Driving School in Hiroshima-City, and he and the man were former colleagues. That instructor teaches me very funny and gives me advice right away if I make a mistake.      I still have at least 13 hours of lesson. So, I will do my best to attend the school and hopefully get my license by the end of this year.
